DID 2006 was a highly
successful show. We had 64 wonderful dolls this year. The public was very
enthusiastic over the great dolls. Thanks to all who made dolls, thanks to
all who photographed, set up and tore down, hostess’d our booth, judged
and critiqued dolls, lent moral support, thanks to all who helped in any way.
It takes a lot of great volunteers to put on DID.
Our judge was Patti Culea, one of the founding members of IOLCC and past president
AND upcoming President. She had a very difficult time judging, but finally
decided thus:
Best Interpretation of the Theme (Celebrations!): “Celebrating the Magic
of the Forest”, original by Lois Boncer
Best Original: “Light of My Life” original by Lidija Fairbanks
Best Adaptation of a Pattern: “Make a Wish” by Darcy Balcomb,
pattern by Patti Culea
Viewer’s Choice winner was “Divine Decadence” original by
Arley Berryhill
Again, thanks to all who made dolls and volunteered their time for making
this a great show.
